Comments Thread For: Calzaghe: Cleverly Has The Attributes To Beat Hopkins

JOE CALZAGHE insists Nathan Cleverly proved he is ready to beat Bernard Hopkins after Saturday’s points win over Robin Krasniqi.

The retired former world super-middleweight stepped up to light-heavyweight to beat Hopkins on points in 2008 and reckons Cleverly can do the same this year.

WBO world light-heavyweight king Cleverly, 26, was in majestic form at Wembley Arena but Kosovo-born Germany-based Krasniqi showed incredible toughness not to go down.

Calzaghe, 41, said: “Hopkins is still world champ today at 48 and that for me shows he is one of the best ever.

like Joe had the attributes to beat Hopkins too - being a lot younger than him, and the patience needed waiting for Hopkins to turn old first before he dared face him.

You mean Cleverly needs Hopkins to make a racist statement, then go to Cleverly's home to be robbed??

Actually Calzaghe didn't have the attributes to beat Hopkins. He really lost that fight....just ask daggum.

Clev is full of bull for chasing a man who is going to be 50something soon, how full of cowardice is that?

Chase Dawson or shut up and stay in Wales fighting like Calzaghe, bums for another 10 years.
