JOE CALZAGHE insists Nathan Cleverly proved he is ready to beat Bernard Hopkins after Saturday’s points win over Robin Krasniqi.
The retired former world super-middleweight stepped up to light-heavyweight to beat Hopkins on points in 2008 and reckons Cleverly can do the same this year.
WBO world light-heavyweight king Cleverly, 26, was in majestic form at Wembley Arena but Kosovo-born Germany-based Krasniqi showed incredible toughness not to go down.
Calzaghe, 41, said: “Hopkins is still world champ today at 48 and that for me shows he is one of the best ever.
