Comments Thread For: Kelvin Price vs. Danny Williams Set For May 18 in Russia

One day following a huge two-championship doubleheader in Moscow (featuring Lebedev vs. Jones and Povetkin vs. Wawrzyk showdowns), the Moscow Region will be rocked again – this time to a lesser degree. On May 18 Dmitry Bogomolov and Pavel Popov of the Podolsk Fighting League will stage a tiny show at the Yunost sports arena in the nearby city of Klimovsk with a couple of familiar names leading the card.

Thought Williams had announced his retirement, he really risks perminent damage now imo.

They shouldn't be allowing Williams to fight anymore. Price has never fought outside of the US and I wonder if the reason he's travelling now is because no American commission would allow this fight to go ahead.

It's also sad that Williams was allowed to fight in both Russia and Germany within 3 months of refusing to take a post-fight drug test. No point is having tests if you can just skip them and suffer no consequences.

Protect yourself at all times is boxing's number one rule but there comes a time when some fighters need protecting from themselves. Williams was a decent fighter at his best. On top of that he always was such a brave guy inside the ring and one of the nicest outside of it. It's a crime that those Latvian cowboys or anybody else should license Danny to continue with what has long since ceased to be a career.

Someone needs to stop Danny fighting, this isnt going to end well for anyone in the end. This is just sad now.

This is going to be Danny's last fight, he confirmed it in a recent interview. Good thing too, you can hear it in his speech now.
