Is this question gonna be asked following every notable LMW bout? cuz I remember Angry Cuban creating a similar thread after the Cotto/Trout fight. There's no "best" imho, there's just guys that are more proven than others. The only "elite" is Floyd, but I don't really classify him as a LMW.

Alvarez deserves to be the the # 1 154lb fighter with his win over Trout, but I wouldn't go as far to say that he's the best in the division. I rate Molina and Rosado higher than Baysangurov, Smith, Angulo, and Lara. I'm really not high on Lara, there is no doubt he has skills, but he has looked less than spectacular against his best competition when he fought Molina and Vanes.
I think Canelo vs Molina or Rosado are 50/50 fights. I doubt they happen and it looks like Rosado could stay at 160, but I would like to see Canelo face the Lara Angulo winner.
FYI I didn't bother mentioning Floyd because he's not a true JMW and no one knows if he'll still be campaigning at 154 after Guerrero.

I don't get the love for Gabriel Rosado. Who has he ever beat for you to rank him higher than Lara?

Mayweather if we can still count him.

              If not, Canelo.

Now if we ignore the injustices he faced against Lara, Kirkland, I'll have to go with Canelo, not by much though. It's still up in the air, who the best is.
You do realized that to no fault of his own, Lara was not in good shape and the fight almost got cancelled because of a tooth infection, you remember shields training Rigondeaux in Ireland and Lara was by himself, on top of that he connected the best punches of the fight and had molina in ***** street in the final rounds, it was a draw not because Molina was a hugging machine, instead for what Lara didn't do, none deserve to win that fight, a draw was fair, and against Kirkland he was really hurt and 6 minutes to go, by the way it was Molinas ppl the one in the ring, right?

How come so many people arent picking Floyd due to other things? That doesnt matter. The question is who is the best 154 pound fighter. To me that is Floyd. There is no way in hell you tell me that Molina beats Floyd. The question is not who belongs where or who is the 154 pound ring champ, or who should be ranked #1, etc......

It was just who is the best fighter and I think that is Floyd. I think if it was 154 pound tourney right now with everyone involved, Floyd would win.
