Bring back same day weigh ins

Carl Froch ring Weight vs Yusef Mack = 172lbs

Saul Alvarez ring weight vs Austin Trout = 172lbs

This **** has got to stop, its ridiculous. Weigh ins two hours before the fight and if someone wants to take advantage by cutting weight and risking death then thats their lookout

Canelo is young so he can do it but the older he gets the more time he will spend in shape yearlong. He won't be able to make the weight like he does now in about 4-5 years. Cutting that much weight is not healthy and it affects your kidneys big time. Hopkins does not get higher than 185 out of camp. Floyd is about 150-155 out of camp. Pac is probably the same as well.

Guys look at Cormier/Anthony Johnson in MMA, Cormier's kidneys shutdown on him so he could not compete in the olympics for wrestling and Johnson used to fight at 170 when he has the frame of a 205 pounder. Now the guy can't even make 185 without his kidneys giving up on him. His last fight was at heavyweight.

People are always going to push it and we will see more deaths in Boxing if the same day weigh in was introduced.

Oh please!?!? Same day weigh ins?!?! What a waste of time arguing about nothing. But it's a good excuse Floyd could use to make Canelo jump through hoops.

Floyd manny jmm martinez would still be kings in their respective weight classes. They would be fighting the huge 135's and 140's

They will never do it because the fight could be canceled if one fighter was overweight. It all started when Spinks was supposed to fight Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. Eddie came in overweight and refused to even try to loose the weight. Spinks refused to fight and retained his championship.

With weigh-ins the day before the fight, a fighter is given a few hours to lose the weight, possibly even to the next morning.

However, with the pre-fight scheduled weigh-ins, a fighter should not have difficulty making weight.

The answer is to move everybody who rehydrates up a weight class and have them weigh-in on the day of the fight.

What about this? Have them weigh-in just before they enter the ring. For instance, if Canelo came in at 172, he would have to fight Light-heavies.
