I'm not into the idea of this becoming the norm, sure fighters/trainers will more or less know what the scores are but i can imagine it leading to "Zab Judah'esk" rounds where he literally runs around the ring to avoid fighting.
Fighters being told what the judges score between rounds!

I think it's a WBC only thing. It's awful, it completely changed the fight. Alvarez fought less aggressively, and Trout had to try for a stoppage. It was ridiculous.
I think a Mares fight had this too, and it was ****** then as well. Kirkland-Angulo had it, but obviously it didn't matter there. -
The WBC implemented open scoring to prevent robberies, I don mind it because its for the protection of the fighter, I think that all other organizations should do it as we'll and little by little the robberies will stop.Comment

It ruined the fight. Boxing is supported by spectators. Open scoring makes watching a fight a worse experience for the spectators. It should be discarded.
Here is another objection to it: sometimes a fighter wins but everyone recognises it as a robbery. These fights are less likely to occur because the fighter being hard done by will be aware of it, take his foot off the pedal, and end up justifying the judges' scoring by taking the rest of the fight off.Comment

All that happens is that we (the fans) can see a potential robbery coming, it's not gonna stop the robbery from actually happening if the fighter on the bad end can't do anything to change it. I'd rather that it doesn't become the norm.Comment

The WBC doesn't implement open scoring, its an "experiment " they've been flirting with several years but hardly ever use it. Why was it used last night? Who decided it?
Open scoring is horrible. It does no good and it takes away from the fight.Comment

It's not the first time this has been done and in fact, in the past, people have commented that this was a positive thing on the whole. Now it's not a good idea because it helped Canelo get the win somehow. If anything, it should have helped motivate Trout to get that KO he was saying he was gonna get on Friday.Comment

No way man, people have always been critical about it. See O'Neil Bell vs Jean Marc Mormeck II. That was a fight of the year candidate for the first half of the fight, but because of open scoring and because the judges had the fight so horribly wide, the second half of the fight consisted of one guy on his bike. Totally ruined the fight. It's not the first time this has been done and in fact, in the past, people have commented that this was a positive thing on the whole.
