Compubox numbers are complete bollocks, they regularly count punches that missed or are blocked with the gloves as landed. Alvarez was taking 2:30 minutes off from round 8 onwards, no way did Trout only land 30 more punches throughout the fight.

After round 4, Canelo took off more than half the round. After round 8, he took off almost all the round.

The rounds would play out with Trout out throwing him 2-1, working the jab, Canelo lands 2-3 significant punches and than proceeds to do nothing at all the next 2 minutes, while Trout keeps his activity up but misses Canelo when Canelo bobs and weaves, but still catching Canelo with shots here and there.

To win a round when you take off 60-80% of the round, you need to land game changers like he did in the 7th.....but he didn't do that too often aside from that round.

            Floyd-Castillo....well it involved better fighters.

Floyd is better than Trout, and Castillo was better than Canelo.

And Floyd at least took the first 4-5 rounds of that fight according to most who watched it, so it's not inconceivable to think he may have take a couple more rounds in the 2nd half. It was a real close fight.

Floyd also didn't take off 80% of the fight and gas after 4 rounds.
