By Jake Donovan - Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has officially arrived as a major box office attractions on both sides of the border. An announced sellout of more than 38,000 fans are expected to pack the Alamodome for his 154 lb. title unification bout with fellow unbeaten Austin Trout.

The bout takes place Saturday evening, live on Showtime beginning at 10PM ET.

Alvarez (41-0-1, 30KO) takes part in his sixth title defense, though facing by far his toughest test to date. The majority of Alvarez two-year reign has come against bloated welterweights and faded former stars, though he has performed like a professional every time out. The 22-year old could have taken a different route, but instead demanded this particular showdown.

Trout (26-0, 14KO) officially entered the running the moment he emphatically outboxed former three-division champ Miguel Cotto last December in New York City. The American southpaw has played the role of road warrior several times before, including a vacant title win over Canelo’s older brother Rigoberto Alvarez two years ago to ignite his current reign.

I jus watched the miguel cotto austin trout fight last night and after watching that fight trout was not all that impressive like the world has been making him seem I. Believe if canelo gets inside its over he's younger then cotto faster then cotto and stronger then cotto and will give trout hell if he gets inside

Here's what this fight comes down to....................

If Austin Trout can handle Canelo's power, side step him most of the time, keep the jab working, stay away from the ropes.....he'll win.

If Canelo can get inside, make Trout fight cornered or from the ropes, he'll win.

We'll see if Canelo can handle a slick, fast southpaw, who can fight back.

While Cotto-Trout was a little closer than the scorecards read, I had Trout winning 8-4.....Trout was the clear winner.

I think Trout will work the jab, and be able to make Alvarez look silly at times. Side steps Canelo a lot, tags him with left hands. Alvarez will have his moments, cornering Trout. But overall....Trout wins 115-113.

I got Canelo by decision. There is more to him than his speed and power. He's also got a good boxing mind and he will surprise people with his boxing skills tonight.
