Sure, let's just let a champ sit on the sideline when he's been through almost 3 training camps. Not defending the fight cause it's a **** fight, but Alexander is doing the right thing and keeping busy. If Brook would stop getting hurt maybe he'll actually get a title shot.

He doesn't have to fight Brook, just fight a somewhat live body to make it a keep busy 'fight'.

The only good thing about this is, Alexander is fighting some unknown (after a boring ass Bailey fight) and hopefully keeps becoming more irrelevant.

He's rated #4 with the IBF so Team Alexander are just going with the highest rated fighter who happens to be Lee Purdy...

Entertaining fighter, albeit got outboxed by a shot-to-shit Lynes so his ceiling has already been found - still could put on a good show against Alexander.

Bit of a joke that the fight is happening but it'll be good to see Purdy get some exposure and a pay-day, what are Team Alexander playing at? Although, it does make some sense from a Hearn stand-point as both are Matchroom and it'd be easier selling the Brook-Alexander fight.

Would still like to see Purdy fight Carson Jones, they're the sort of fights he should be having, not world champions.

There is. It's a stay busy fight. Alexander isn't going to risk it with less than a months notice I'm assuming. However, there's no reason to b1tch about it when it's Brook that got hurt. Alexander can do what he wants. If Brook can stay healthy he'll get another shot. You can't sit around and wait for a guy for damn near 8 or 9 months.
