  • Comments Thread For: Scott Harrison: This is a New Chapter in My Career

Scott Harrison is ready to launch a "new chapter" in his career when he faces Liam Walsh at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.

The lightweight showdown will be the third fight of Harrison's comeback, which began with two routine victories in 2012 that ended six years out of the ring due to personal problems and a spell in a Spanish prison.

The 35-year-old Scot denies there is a drive to make amends as he targets becoming world champion for a third time. "I don't feel like I've got to make up for lost time. I see it more as though I'm beginning a new chapter in my career," he said.

"I'm not interested in lost time or what's happened or my age. What's the point of that? You just keep looking forward.

I've seen rports of this fight over the past few weeks, and of his other comeback fights. Harrison is or was supposed to be heading for another Spanish prison to serve a 4 year sentence for deadly assault in a Spanish brawl. He had appealed end of last year and nothing has been heard since, except a couple of months ago on this site it was reported that within a week or so he would be going back to prison in Spain..

The latest pronouncements about him and his future career seem ot to even mention this looming prison term? The prevailing attitude is that it just doesn't exist, or...has it perhaps been quashed and I've failed to notice it? It seems that he's still being promoted by his long-time promoter Frank Warren who was so disgusted with his behaviour and late-date fight cancellations over the many years past........

So....does anyone know what's really happening eith him??

Not sure about his prison term, but that looked like the last chapter of his career tonight.

He would probably shoot someone next week while his father would claim he didn't do it and how everyone is trying to frame his son....nice family.

He did OK tonight, but he's never getting back to world level. A couple of pay days and maybe a British title then call it a day.
