  • Comments Thread For: Fortuna vs Zamudio Early Results From Atlantic City

Javier Fortuna puts his unbeaten record on the line against Miguel Zamudio in the main event of ESPN2's Friday Night Fights show, which airs live from Atlantic City.

Also to have been at stake was an alphabet title, but the belt is now only on the line for Zamudio (25-1-1, 13KO). The interim title was stripped from Fortuna (21-0, 15KO) immediately after Thursday's weigh-in, when the unbeaten Dominican failed to get down to the featherweight limit.

The bout airs later this evening. [Click Here To Read More]

Wow. That was irresponsible to put Zamudio in there with Fortuna. Seriously did they pick that kid from the street?! Chin straight up in the air, throwing with his eyes closed!! smh

              Why is this even news???

That kid had no business in there with Fortuna, and Fortuna came out swinging like a bat outta hell because he knew he wasn't in top shape.

I'm already starting to dislike this dude, and I can almost bet that people are going to be on his sack, like they were when Matthysse knocked out Mike Dallas Jr. in the 1st round.

I mean c'mon, it was Mike Dallas Jr for christ's sake. Fortuna looked like hot garbage in the Hyland fight, and he's sure to get floored in the near future. Tired of these hype jobs out here...

You speak the truth. But I don't think anyone is all the high on Fortuna. I know he brings high entertainment value. I doubt he will ever be on a superstar level but he can fight and has scary power at 126, I'd love to see him vs Russell to see which one of them is the real deal, both have been looking good an would give each other a real test..

Yes totally agree!! Bernardo always sounds like he's trying to hard and it comes off very unnatural and robotic. As far as the KO it was one of the more scarier KO's in recent memory. I don't remember the last time I saw a fighter carried out on a stretcher.
