That Trout guy isn't really proven either. Beating a JMW Cotto in 2013 shouldn't be the litmus test of your career.

Canelo will be his biggest test to date. I fully expect him to win, but we don't know how good Trout is until he beats Canelo.

Are you really comparing trout with golovkin??? haha

Alvarez definitely felt the pressure as he gave ground without allowing his back to touch the ropes. He used fluid upper-body movement to evade Golovkin’s short power shots, which prompted co-trainer Jose Reynoso to yell “Bien, bien, muy bien!” from the corner. Alvarez landed a picture-perfect head-to-body hook combination mid-round. Golovkin fired back but the kid leaned away from the punches. Alvarez tried to counter Golovkin but couldn’t get through the older fighter’s guard. Still, the young man’s accuracy backed Golovkin off for the first time during the session. Alvarez followed Golovkin during the final minute but walked into a hard left hook that appeared to rock him with 10 seconds remaining. Alvarez didn’t return to his corner after the bell but instead tried to shake out his right leg, which immediately stiffened on impact of Golovkin‘s hook.

Not only this, we all know how Cotto's cokehead brother rocked him pretty bad. I wouldn't be surprised if Trout wins by KO/TKO

No, this guy said Canelo took Golovkin's punches OK, I just pointed out that he was rocked by GGGs left hook. It wouldn't be really suprising considering the fact that Canelo sparred with P4P biggest puncher, but Canelo getting rocked by Jose Cotto may raise some questions about his chin.

As far as having their chins tested, they've both had their moments. Canelo vs Cotto, and Trout getting clearly knocked down with headgear vs Martirosyan. As far as Canelos ability to take a shot I don't worry about it. Before this fight GBP was eager to put him up against Kirkland, Williams, and then Ortiz. Obviously those didn't occur but GBP matchmakers have probably seen enough fights, and sparring with guys like GGG to suggest taking on guys with pop wont be an issue. What the issue is that GBP has been reluctant to match him with Trout because of the real possibility of him losing a decision. Lots of answers to be answered tomorrow.

Yes, Canelo was hurt by Cotto's brother. That was years ago when Canelo was much smaller and still a welterweight. Cotto caught him a perfect punch and followed up with about ten more hard shots. Canelo stayed cool and stayed on his feet and was winning the round before it was over. Canelo has never been down in 41 fights and he has been a pro since he was 15 years old. He has a good chin. Cotto's brother is not a light puncher. He also rocked Paulie who has a very good chin. Trout was knocked down and badly hurt by Vanes as an amateur.
