Because he's patient enough to do it, and Trout was on his bike vs Cotto, who's smaller and less powerful than Canelo. Canelo's boxing skills and defense are underrated. Trout's only chance on paper is to outbox Canelo, but you'll see even that will be hard, because Canelo is not some come forward brawler who will get ******. The guy is very smart and patient and really picks his punches. Canelo has a puncher's chance to win and also can outwork and beat Trout in a boxing match, so he can win two ways. Call me crazy [about Canelo's boxing skills] but you'll see when Trout is befuddled and can't keep Canelo off of him when he finds out his boxing skills are not good enough for Canelo.

Canelo picks his punches well? The guy has fought blown up jr welterweights. He will outwork Trout?

Do you really believe he will outwork Trout? Have you seen the way Canelo and Trout fights or have you been brainwashed Canelo is a worldbeater?

There is no chance in the world Canelo will outbox Trout like you claim... absolutely none.

I have seen your picks, you are usually right with your bold claims, and sometimes you are wrong. This will fall in to the 'sometimes you are wrong', predictions. Canelo will beat Trout, by decision, TKO, however. Canelo is the better all around fighter. You will be shocked I guess.

That win relied heavily on Cotto being small and gassing

They will all be shocked Kev. I hate these cultists bums who hop on any "slick" fighter on the raise and makes them sound like they're the second coming of Ali. They're gonna get a reality check tomorrow night.

Canelo gets little credit for his excellent timing and speed (Yes... Speed... When Canelo lands his counter shots... You'll actually notice what you've already seen, but haven't noticed).

His technique (defense, footwork, etc.), ring IQ (use of his feints, punch selection, etc.), accuracy, and combinations are going to be on full display Saturday. The kid will be able to win boxing on the outside and pressing on the inside.

Canelo's already shown all of this, but people fail to recognize it until it's against someone that they think is good (shortsightedness). Trout is a good fighter so he'll be able to win rounds based on his boxing ability, but Canelo will show his well-rounded game (once again), this time against his best competition yet.

I don't see him doing it either. He's getting soundly outboxed.

This one is in the hands of canelo. Seems like you guys havent paid attention to this kis, and made believe that hes abother young hypejob. Ive seen some stuff that made me believe hes the real deal. Alone his combination speed, patience and power is enough to keep pretty much everyone asking questions. This wont be an easy fight, but i belive that canelo will make cotto look like a weakling after this fight.

                      I see both sides' point.

Canelo surely has a lot of weaknesses, I was watching his fight against that mexican guy from the first season of "the contender" (sorry, can't recall his name right now ).

Canelo was missing a lot, getting outboxed by a ' not so slick ' fighter for more than a couple of rounds. Sure it was 2 years ago, but I think those flaws are still there if one knows how to exploit it.

He also seems to gas, I might be wrong on this, but I remember him breathing hard, with his mouth open in more than one occasion.

On the other hand, he is still dangerous, and Trout, although tall and rather well rounded, is not a Mayweather or a Rigondeaux. Nor a particularly heavy hitter from what I've seen.

It could go either way in my opinion, I don't see one fighter having a clear overall advantage over the other.
