Rigondeaux is going to have to be real flexible if he wants to stay busy (thus make money) especially near term given his current promoters feelings about him.

He is going to have to take what comes his way, it sucks for him but if he can make it through he will deserve even more respect. If he is picky he is probably going to be on the shelf a lot which also sucks and the even worse outcome IMO.

That's cause most of the top welters happen to be not natural at welter right now, and there's hardly any good natural ones. But Sergio started at 147, PWill, Canelo moved up etc. Guys like Thurman can easily make that jump also. It's harder for a guy like Cotto who was stubby at welter, but even he somehow got ranked #1 at 154.

Pac, Morales, MAB made the 122-126 jump easy. Even PDL made the jump very well.

Good stuff, I've always wondered how you know someones natural weight is.

You gotta have a sense of proportion. Pac had won belts in a record 6 divisions before asking for his first CW. Most everyone else is asking for CWs much earlier, including fan favorites like Mares, PWill, Cotto, JMM, and now Rigo.

Did you know Vic Ortiz has 0 top ten wins at a regulation weight, at 140 or 147? He's 1-1-3 against top level comp, with his only win coming at a catchweight.
