I think if Mayweather was gettin whoop'd in sparring he would make an excuse to pull out. He is not a type of fighter who will go in when he is getting his ass whooped in sparring.

Could just be a Mayweather mind game. Could mean he is training balls to the wall. Sparring could be harder than the actual fight. Floyd is known to go 12 rounds switching sparring partners every few rounds so he gets someone who is constantly fresh and also an opponent who just watched a few rounds and may see something. Bound to be hit in that scenario sometime. In a hit game you get hit. Ruben just trying to boost his sons confidence. And he'll need all he can get because Money has a way of taking it from you in the ring.

Floyd is probably just trying to see what he can and cannot do, that is what the gym is for, team guerrero is studying too hard, they better just prepare for the best Floyd jr possible, if Floyd just dominates throughout camp he might not be in the right mindset, in boxing you have to feel somewhat vulnerable so you do not take your opponent for granted, I think honestly he is working his body out, by taking on a little more punishment then usual - this is going to be a grueling fight, guerrero is a dog and he likes to try to beat you up, you have to prepare for that type of opponent, where berto thought he was going to come in and just dominate -the greats train like this once their skill set diminishes and they have to rely more on their boxing IQ - Ali's training camp for Foreman was hell, he just laid on the ropes and let his sparring partners beat him up - but his performance in that legendary fight speaks for itself.

What do you base this on? He postponed one fight in his whole career that I remember, which was Marquez from May to September because of a rib injury which he showed on camera and it was legit. I heard he was not 100% for the Cotto fight but he still went through with it, and his shoulder injury was well known for the first Castillo fight but he still went through with the fight.

Thats what happens in sparring. You get hit.
Floyd got his rib broke in sparring.
I have seen his eye bruised before while sparring.

As for getting beat up? You never know.
But Floyd always says that he has some bad days in the gym, but under the lights he is 43-0.
