    Casuals praising Rigondeaux?

I've ran into 2 casuals now who asked me if I knew Rigo and my answer was "of course" then they proceeded by saying "He's good man" while raising their eyebrows. The latest one was today and he was a Filipino. When he initially asked I figured he would talk **** but instead told me Rigo was a good boxer. And oh yea, a friend of mine (casual) who's never seen Rigo before said he went to the fight and was like "wtf is this? I didn't come here to watch Mayweather". I didn't know whether to take it as a good thing or bad thing. But of course in his case it was a bad thing.

I was wondering if anyone has ran into this situation as well by any chance.

I had people over for the Pacquiao/Bradley fight.

They usually text me "what time does the main event start" because they don't want to see the undercards. I lied so they would be over in time to watch Rigondeaux/Kennedy. They were all impressed with what they saw that night.

So the past few days I've just been getting texts saying thinks like "Did you hear about Rigondeaux? You were right about that guy"

I was with a couple casuals when the Rigo-Donaire fight was on, and they were mesmerized by the skill. I believe his inability to connect with a general audience is being largely exaggerated.

While most of it is true that he doesnt have the appealing style I think people exaggerate a little bit. Of course it doesn't help that his own promoter and some of these media guys are taking a dump on him.

I feel you. It happened to me when I had some people watch Dawson fight Pascal.

                    A couple things...

                    1. LMAO @ Referring to these folks as "Casuals"

                    2. The things us die hards do to get people into the actual ART of boxing. Lying about the time of the main event to get them to watch Rigo is hilarious.

I had a "fight party" for the Rigo/Donaire fight just to send the message to some "casuals" that the fight was a big deal. They'd ask "Is that Pay Per View?" I only got the nerves to invite 2 people over because I honestly didn't think anyone else would give two shiets.
