Comments Thread For: Judah: Hopkins Showed I Have To Annihilate Young Foes

Zab Judah has every good reason to head into the 19th world title fight of his long and storied career confident he can dethrone rising star Danny Garcia and win back the unified light-welterweight title at the age of 35.

Judah looked a fading force when he was stopped in the fifth round by Amir Khan in July 2011, but bounced back in March last year with a stunning stoppage win over previously unbeaten Vernon Paris.

And now Judah heads into his challenge to 140lb king Garcia - best known for conquering Khan in July last year - having been convinced by Bernard Hopkins' recent exploits that age is just a number.

Hopkins - 13 years' Judah's senior - recently made history by claiming the IBF version of the world light-heavyweight title over Tavoris Cloud at the age of 48, and the fast-talking Judah believes he too is on the verge of scoring a notable success for the sport's old guard.

Judah said: "I respect Danny as a champion and he has youth on his side. But the old man [Hopkins] showed you what to do, and that's to go in and annihilate these young boys. [Click Here To Read More]

I can believe, the skill set is still there. But Zab better not revert to complaining , or he's done.

Unless Danny catches him with one of those monster left hooks, Zab wins. I just can't see a slow wild fighter like Garcia outboxing a slick southpaw like Judah.

That is as long as Judah's conditioned to keep up the pace for 12 rounds. He sounds like he is. But we'll have to wait and see.

lol then again Zab isn't Bhop.
But I could see Zab winning if he boxes and stays away for dear life.
        I'll be cheering for Garcia

Once he gets touched he will be looking for the exit.

If Zab is in good condition and sticks to the game plan and box he has a great chance of winning. he need to start out slow and not over do it in the early rounds. then pick it up as the fight goes on.

As soon as he said he going to "go in and annihilate these young foes" whatever confidence I had in him that little bit to think he just might win went out of the window.

If he had said Hopkins inspired him there's a way to win even if the odds are against you especially age, I would think Judah has gotten a bit wise.

But again this mentality is gonna get him messed up guaranteed
