  • Comments Thread For: Team Porter: We Owe Devon Alexander an Ass-Whooping!

Welterweight Shawn Porter (20-0-1, 14KOs), and his father/trainer Ken Porter, are hungry to settle an old score with IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (24-1, 13KOs) and his longtime trainer Kevin Cunningham.

Alexander was scheduled to fight mandatory challenger Kell Brook on May 18th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Brook withdrew a few days ago with a foot injury. Porter is also scheduled to see action on the same card, against Phil Lo Greco.

I'm pretty sure he moved down. But he still hasn't really done anything since they showed him on ESPN years ago. Never has stepped up his competition. This would be a dramatic step up for Porter but I'd die laughing and be so happy if Porter put Devon to sleep!

Next we will hear about a 30 year old contender wanting to get even with a champ who stole his ball or Gumby toy in the playground when they were 5 years old!!

Right now without a recent definitive win, I rank Devon the same as Malignaggi in that they are in the driver's seat for negotiations- opponents will bend over for them because they think Devon and Paulie are both beatable.
