Even still, I'm well aware of how bad Price's chin is and the amount of times he's been down as an amateur - never knocked out though, was always stopped on his feet.
People thought one punch on the chin of Khan would be enough then after he goes in against Maidana, his chin is fine-ish...Garcia knocks him out and it's the worse chin ever again.
But if you look at the opinions on Khan's chin after Prescott and then now, there is a big difference. Which is where the comparison with Price is drawn from, that the punch Thompson landed which perforated his ear drum isn't the best thing to go off.
If Khan has speed, then Price has power. Which will make for an interesting career, he either knocks them out first or they knock him out - what isn't to love?

I agree, man.
But...IMO, he simply hasn't developed since the Olympics. He should have severed ties with Maloney back in 2012, and dumped his trainer, Franny Smith. Age is against him; if he could perfect a defence a la Klitschko, he would be a serious contender. As it is, he'll remain at European level.

As you've said, he's old so he's never going to show significant improvement. I'm sure the Thompson fight was a wake-up call and he's been working hard in the gym. Franny Smith gave up his business to train Price (trained him as an amateur too), so I can't see Price leaving him.
I still think he'll get to contender status, I'm sure him and Fury will meet in the next few years for a belt.
If it was the other way around I'd have definitely said Thompson took a dive for cashmonies. I like Price, so i hope he get's a good few more fights under his belt before being KO'd again, and like D-MiZe said, it'll make for exciting fights in future...i think Price has genuine talent, but there's always going to be a KO around the corner judging by that shot.
