every time vitali retires or takes off, wlad looses shortly after. bank on that

so with both of them out of the way, everyone will throw their hat in the ring and put on competitive fights

haye and fury are the last men standing

And how does Vitali never fighting Haye, in this scenario, affect his resume?
The HW scene will open up - get more exciting!

Hopefully there'll be another Wlad vs Haye showdown, after all, it's one of the most exciting match up's out there.

Vitali not fighting Haye doesn't affect his resume - of course, a win over Haye would've looked nice on Vitali's resume, but after all, it's all Haye's fault that fight never happened. Vitali did all he could.

There will be another showdown between the two. The first was too boring to let it be the last. I have a feeling both will go for it much more in a second fight.

It wasn't exactly Haye's fault that Setanta went bust. You want him to fight for free?
Vitali could fight Haye at any given time, so he hasn't done all-

Personally I DON'T think Wlad will be able to unify the WBC.

First off, if Vitali defends against Arreola, say that fight happens in August or something, then he will delay his retirement until early next year, the WBC will then order semi finals to box off for the title, so we are probably looking at 24 months until a champion is crowned, the champ will probably take an easy payday or two before wanting to fight wlad etc etc etc

bear in mind Wlad is 37 years old now, by the time all this rubbish gets sorted out he'll most likely be 40 years old, and there are good young fighters coming through.

Personally I just don't see it happening, the WBC just makes it too hard

Vitali will be known as a legend. If they allow it, Wladimir will unify the belts.

you need to beat better fighters than Chris Arreola and Sam Peter to be considered a Legend.

                  sorry.

IMO His retirement stuffed up his legacy, His resume post-retirement is probably his weakest link. I don't consider him an ATG fighter but rather an elite heavyweight of this particular era. Sure the statics may look good on paper, but once you weigh his stats against his opposition you truly begin to see through his second reign as champion.
