Mares is great little fighter, but he will be in waay over his head if he fought Rigondeuax, 'again'. There is way too much credit given to Abner for beating up Anselmo Moreno.

He seems like a good guy. I don't know that he can beat Ponce, but I wish him luck. I'll take Rigo, Donaire, and Russell Jr. over him any day though.

it's hard not to like mares after you see him talk ..but why is he not prioritizing rigo instead nonito who just got schooled .. i assume this video was taken before saturday?......

Mares seems like a cool guy, has a fan-friendly style. I still would love to see him and Donaire get it on. I'd favor Rigondeaux in such a bout, but I'd favor Rigo over anyone so it has less to do with Mares and more to do with Rigo. Stylistically, Mares may be able to have some success with Rigo early in spots, but ultimately I think he'd pay for that aggression.

mares is and has been the truth. he'll, mark my words, toy with PDL and i got him beating donaire. he has the intangibles of a long-standing champion.

right now he beats gary russell jr, imo and gives a great fight against rigo.

in my latino p4p list this cat is #2 to jmm. heart and skill for days.

If ponce De leon schools the kid... oh the irony. That being said he's head isnt over bloated (no pun intended) like Donaire very likeable kid.
