I think it'll be awfully hard for Donaire to decline a more lucrative JuanMa fight after the pasting he took against Rigo.

Still, I'd love to see him step up and avenge his loss. That would definitely surpass his 2112 accomplishments.

One can argue that a second fight would be more marketable than the first one, since Donaire would presumably be much better prepared for it. (He did admit that he didn't train adequately the first time.)

As for Donaire's boxing IQ, this is my opinion: I cannot say for certain how ring-smart he is, or how much training it would take to overcome bad habits, or how good his trainer will have to be to develop his skills to their fullest.

But when I think of Pacquiao, who I am convinced is very much less intelligent than Donaire, and how, through hard work and the right trainer, he was able to achieve more than what could have been expected early in his career, I think Donaire has a good chance of being competitive in a second fight.

If nothing else, knowing that he got embarassed the first time should motivate him to improve, and ultimately ask for a rematch.

As far as marketability goes: unfortunately, even if I don't personally care about it, it is a factor that has to be considered to bring in the casual fan. While Donaire's reputation has been tarnished, a series of good fights for Donaire that show improvement will, I hope, bring back excitement in him. In the meantime, Rigondeaux can continue to fight challengers to raise his profile (and income), too.

I would welcome a rematch in a year or two - let them fight and finish other foes for their next few fights and by 2014/2015 Rigondeaux should be agreeable to moving up to featherweight for what would be a big payday if all goes as I described

Donaire 36-2 (24) vs Rigondeaux 17-0 (13) in 2015 sounds like a potential PPV to me and I would expect many more fireworks from the participan -

Donaire's camp knows they have to impose his size advantage over Rigondeaux should he step up to featherweight and make it and ugly, dirty brawl - if its a chess match conducted in space they have already learned the outcome.

Team Rigondeaux should be agreeable to more exchanges like he enjoyed in round 4 because they know he can really hurt Donaire - had he busted Donaire's eyesocket earlier in the match he probably would have gotten the TKO

If this fight is any lower than 128, is pure BS. Juanma should be fighting at 130 and forget FW, but I know bob will throw him a mill or 2, just to try and build donaire back. Funny would be if Donaire tries to exchage and Juanma catches him with that right hook, I think donaire will go down for the count if that happends.

Juanma is way bigger than Rigo(rigo is a BW, before Donai******s start with the Doanire took rigo's shots) and bigger than Donaire, donaire is obviously way faster and a better counter puncher.

If Donaire keeps his cool, and boxes mid rage without exchaging he wins a UD easily, if he exchages and looks for the KO he gets flatten!

Donaire/Rigondo II won't make any money. It was boring as fu*ck the first time, why would anyone buy a seat to watch it again?

I'm pretty sure HBO don't want it, otherwise they'd be all on it like Alvarado/Rios III.

Juanma has said he will move down to fight Donaire which makes sense. Juanma is at 130 and Donaire at 122, so 126 would be fair. It looks like Mikey Garcia will be on the same card and will move up to 130 so Donaire will fight Juanma for the vacant WBO Featherweight Championship.
