So much for Rigondeaux only having a left hand

First time I've really watched him and I was very impressed.

Great discipline, good footwork, picked his shots superbly.

I genuinely couldn't pick who was going to win last night because I thought Donaire was as good but Rigo is on another level.

    Superb.

      Superb.
      Respect.

Only Donaire fans said Rigo was a 1handed fighter.

Great fight! Went how I thought it would. Rigo kept his distance and made sure he wasn't in range for the left hook. If you watch you can see him countering with the right a lot. I feel like if Donaire got desperate for a KO he was gonna get KO'd. You could see in the last round Rigo started to chase him. Donaire definitely felt his power. Anyway I don't see anyone beating Rigo. Mares gets KO'd, Rigo would turn his aggression against him.

Rigo did use the left straight to the head and body way too much in his other fighters. Excluding the flicking jab it was probably 85% straights to the left and body.

His jab was dominant yesterday, he landed it hard on occasion and he constantly controlled Donaire's glove placement with it to open up for counters. There were a few instances where their lead hands came together and Rigo was just moving Donaire's lead hand wherever he liked, he'd push it outside to land a straight left to the body, other times a little flick down or to the inside would open up the opportunity for a quick hook. He was just flat out better than Donaire in the tactical match, almost every little nuance of movement he did had a definite purpose.
