Both fighters throw well below the super bantamweight average. WBO champion Nonito Donaire landed nearly half his power shots in last 4 fights (Arce, Nishioka, Mathebula, Vazquez). WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux's opponents (Marroquin, Kennedy, Ramos, Cordoba) landed just 13% of their total punches.

I always felt these numbers were useless unless they use common opponents.

How many punches Donaire landed against Darchinyan is no comparison to what Rigo landed against Rico Ramos.

Rigondeaux is very quick and explosive like Gamboa and his defense is like Mayweather's. He appears to be da real deal. He still can get caught though and lose this fight with one blow.
