Comments Thread For: Hopkins: I Would Rather Fight Froch, Bute, Golovkin

IBF light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (53-6-2, 32KOs) had several other possible candidates in mind for his next fight, but all of them are occupied with their own events - like Lucian Bute, who faces Jean Pascal in a Canadian super-fight on May 25th, or Carl Froch who takes on Mikkel Kessler in a super middleweight unification on May 25, and WBO/IBO middleweight king Gennady Golovkin who faces Matthew Macklin on June 29th.

Would Hopkins drop to 168 for Froch?

All in divisions lower than him. SMH! Typical Hopkins.

Sorry Bernard but i really don't see GGG as a light heavy. He's in his 30's already and is down at 160. I guess he could fight at 175 in the future, but at 5' 10", why give away significant height and reach advantages to guys like yourself, Bute and Froch?

Has Hopkins not already fought Dawson twice, Pascal twice and Cloud? He's fought the best at 175. He's now looking to make a big fight against fighters with names. Questioning Hopkins opposition is foolish.

Awesome to see him interested in fighting tough opponents like Froch and Glove.

I don't think he realises Froch isn't moving up to 175. Better chance with Kessler.

Bute is fighting at 175, he is probably his best bet if he can get past Pascal (which he won't).

you should tell this to GGG who keeps calling out B-hop for a fight at 175lbs, don't be mad at B-hop for calling GGG bluff, I like GGG but he wants to appear invincible and willing to fight anyone from 154 to 175 and in reality only has fought 154lbs lately.

So what he's saying is that he doesn't want to fight a light heavyweight.
