Comments Thread For: Valuev Says He Won't Return, Not Even For Klitschko

Former WBA heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev (50-2, 34 KOs), 39-years-old, has once again stated that he doesn't have any plans to return to the ring. The "Beast from the East" gained worldwide attention with his massive frame and height of 7'1. Valuev has not fought since losing his title by way of a close twelve round majority decision to David Haye in late 2009. Afterwards, Valuev underwent numerous operations to correct several injuries that were bothering him over the years.

Valuev is a chump; utter disgrace.

He had an opportunity at either K-bro years ago and retired. Wow!

Valuev was never, ever going to fight one of the Klitschko brothers. He knows he'd lose, painfully, and like Povetkin, he was happy to earn money with an alphabet belt and avoid the Brothers

Vitali offered $2.5 mil and Valuev agreed to it but Don King wanted more, Klitschko then offered $1.5 mil and then $1.2 mil. Lowering the offers isn't a good way to get someone into the ring.

Weeee....you have it sort of right, and a lot of wrong. Why are your posts always so one-sided. The truth is better. Feel good about yourself instead of ......

Valuev was offered $2.5 mill but King refused saying he wanted $4 mill. Valuev really wanted to accept, and stated so. It was reported on this site. So the fight was off. AFTER a good while, Klitschko tried to make another fight, this time offering $1.5 mill. When this was also objected to, he said that Valuev had lost his value(v) as he no longer had a title. Very logical and also very true. Valuev said after, that he wanted the fight but because he was suffering a variety of ailments, for which he needed treatment he couldn't fight anyway.

Why are your posts always so one-sided, edgarg? You're like a ******ed white knight always rushing to the defense of the Klitschkos or Bob Arum/Top Rank fighters.

he had a decent career but he really beat no one when he was champion. his best wins were over ruiz. he was a protected fighter. the one guy who i wanted to see fight him was mccline. too bad he hurt his knee or ankle early in the fight & couldn't continue. i really wanted to see how that unfolded. valuev was the sacrificial lamb for sauerland & king to get a few options on haye. they were pretty sure haye was going to beat valuev & they obviously knew of his health issues too.

It would have been interesting to see at one point, but I honestly don't care about Valuev.
