Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Donaire Has To Target Rigondeaux's Chin

Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. believes WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (31-1, 20KOs) should target the chin of WBA king Guillermo Rigondeaux (11-0, 8KOs). The two boxers collide later tonight in a unification encounter at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Jones has a lot of respect for Rigondeaux, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner and regarded as one of the best amateur fighters of all-time. But, Jones views Rigo's chin as his main weakness. He does warn Donaire about the danger of getting caught himself, because Rigondeaux can pack a punch. [Click Here To Read More]

I think the fighters should try and hit each other.

Damn you can tell he's an ATG fighter with solid advice like this.

"As well as that, Donaire must try to avoid Rigo's punches."

Come on Roy, I appreciate the deep insight on this but I don't think there is a person in this world who didn't know that already.

You should have talked about how Donaire may be forced to keep his hands low and expose his own chin at points in the fight due to counter shots from Rigo to his liver area. I think Rigo is going to focus on Donaire's body a lot to slow him down and take away his power. Donaire isn't known for having an exceptional core area either.

100% right Roy. But so does Rigo IMO!

He's not saying that because it's genius insight, he's saying that because it's his answer to someone asking him a question, answers in which when you're an ATG, it's worthy of being a news topic.

I know that's hard to fathom given none of us know what it feels like to have anyone give two ****s about our own Boxing opinions but try and understand eh, fellas.

So if someone asks Roy "What do you when you need a **** mid-fight?" If he responds "You just hold it in." Does that constitute news?
