Comments Thread For: Mamadjonov, Santana, Imam, Oliveira, Coyne Post Quotes

Post-fight quotes from ShoBox televised event at Teasure Island Casino in Las Vegas.

Baha Mamadjonov: “One week notice and I win by that kind of knockout. The first couple of rounds he (Angelo Santana) was difficult to figure out but once I did I just got more aggressive. The hard work paid off. I came to the United States to be a champion. I want to win a world title and this was the first step. I’m just starting. It’s going to be one belt at a time.

“Santana hits really hard and I respect him but I could see he was getting tired in the sixth round after I hit him with a body shot.”

Angelo Santana: “The referee stopped the fight. I tell you I was still in it. I landed two big left hands earlier in the round. We were in a good fight and it should have continued. Nothing against Baha, he’s a good fighter, but I want a rematch.

Stoppage was a little early; Pacquiao knocked Marquez down three times too, ya know? A stoppage was coming, but Santana got up way too quick to wave it off just like, in my opinion.

    Good win for Mamadjidcdcjfbffesov.

Hopefully Don doesn't keep Angelo off too long and he can comeback and get back into the wins.

These central asian/russian fighters are on a roll right now.

Fun fight, santana couldnt keep those combos off and he needs to get that body right. Baha was crumbling him

Championship fights and titlists usually get a better chance IMO.
Remember Montiel.... that dude was rolling all over the place and lost, but still got to continue.....horrible choice though.
IMO, Santana could have still went, but probably would have got KD'd again... there was like 2 minutes left

That was a heck of a fight, fun to watch! Mamadjonov proved you don't have to be the biggest ****er to break a guy... just go to work on body. You could tell Santana's body wasn't there to keep him up. Baha would slip those body shots behind his elbows and Santana couldn't counter with his high-guard defense. He proved to be mentally weak.

I agree, the fight was stopped a little early but it's OK because it's not a big title fight and Santana wasn't showing much signs of life anyway.

              MAMADJONOV!!!
