Amir Mansour KOs Jason Gavern in round one

Tonight at Dover Downs Casino and Hotel, Dover, Delaware, Amir Mansour knocked out Jason Gavern in the first round.

Too bad age 40 Mansour spent his prime in prison, because he's a genuine heavyweight talent.

I thought he got his parole revoked for some violation, well it i good to see him free because it looks like he turned his life around. When he fought Dominic Guinn and made him look like he would rather be somewhere else i knew that Amir was the goods, but you are right too bad he is old.

I look forward to seeing the clip.

Used to be if you took Gavern out early that was a great sign because he was tough and durable though obviously underskilled.

That being said however, he has been dispatched early a lot lately so I am curious if this stoppage had more to do with Monsour's power or Gavern's declining punch resistance.

Nah. He got a Drawn with Johnathan Banks a few years ago, but has lost his last five strait.

Good name journeyman to shake off the rust coming off a layoff, though. Mansour also took out good old Dominique Alexander in one round in January.

Amir's doing what he's supposed to do and I like that he's doing it in a hurry, but god damn he is 41. Unless he's a relative of Bernard Hopkins I don't see him making it to a title shot.

You're forgetting piece of crap champ Povetkin and whatever bum will fill in for a retired Vitali.

I would say Amir Monsour is actually younger and more deserving right now than Cedric Boswell was when Povetkin fought him.
