    Rigondeaux similar to Leon Spinks?

Leon Spinks won the gold medal in 1976 and this is when the whole world was tuned in to the "boxing scene" and boxing olympics weren't a joke. He won at light heavyweight and turned pro at heavyweight fast forward two.....yes two years later after 7 fights dude was fighting for the world heavyweight title against Muhammad Ali. Guess what? Leon won in a close split decision. His pro career and life later turned out for the worst however early on he made history.

Now there are some big differences such as Rigondeaux doesn't look like a no toothed hood rat but there are some similarities here. Amateur Olympic standout that fast forwards through his pro career to fight for a title. The only one big difference could be......does Rigondeaux win.

Spinks beat him when Ali should have already retired, and he still went on to beat him in the rematch.

Spinks went on to lose most of his fights after that which shows how little success in the amatuers means in the pros.
