Comments Thread For: Oscar De La Hoya: Trout Fight Will Prove Canelo's Worth

Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya says Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (40-0-1, 30KOs) will prove a lot of things on April 20th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, where he faces WBA champion Austin Trout (26-0, 14KOs) in a unification before an estimated crowd of nearly 40,000 fans. Among the many in his big stable, De La Hoya has taken a personal interest in the progress of Canelo's career. He views this contest as the turning point in Canelo's level of competition.

Can't wait, my travel plans are all set up to be in the Alamodome on the 20th.
Its sink or swim time for Canelo.
He's either going to shut up all the naysayers or Trout will prove he is the man in this division.
Either way boxing wins, we get a good fight between two undefeated champions.

Have people honestly seen that much in Trout? Or have you just not seen enough from Canelo? Im sorry but I just keep reading people's thoughts on Trout and I just don't see what's so special..i'm not saying Canelo is the second coming either but damn folks are talking like trout is a walking ender of worlds lol.

This would make sense if canelo wasn't favored. You cannot expect a hundred percent of human beings to pick canelo bro.

But on the tread topic itself, Oscar is right. But 1 loss doesn't end a career. These guys need to stop acting like it does. Not everyone's last name is Mayweather.
