They'd be popular for sure...and appreciated more. But there must be something about the Klits that has turned off fans here.

Because they do have at least three boxes checked: white, speaks English, HW

Other foreign fighters who are now more popular than them didn't start with any of those boxes checked, yet still rose.

It's hard to say with them. Some of it has to be style... but even in that case, you might be right...if they were from the States and were just as "boring", they wouldn't have had to abandon the US as their market that's for sure.

      Memories are made of this.

He's popular now amongst people who don't like the Klitschkos. Even though many of the same criticisms you hear about the Klitschkos were made about Lewis.
      Utter nonsense

all his fights were packed to the rafters in the US and he always brought the house down

vitali on the other hand was booed in his own hometown recently during a fight

In my opinion it's the robotic Eastern Euro style that turns off the fans.
I believe that if Wlad was an Italian boy from Brooklyn or a farm boy from Nebraska that he would be beyond popular and why, do I really need to say it? Because he would be the dominate "great white hope." And I am sure that would still go along way in the good ole USA.
