Comments Thread For: Segura vs. Sosa Still in Talks For Potential May Clash

Former world champion Giovani Segura (29-2-1, 25 KOs), is training in Montebello, California, with the prospect of fighting WBC flyweight silver champion Edgar Sosa (48-7, 29 KOs) in May.

"I’m working exceptionally hard in the gym because I'm determined to return to the elite of boxing. I feel very motivated that I could face a great fighter like Edgar Sosa,” Segura said.

I strongly doubt Segura will return to the top of the echelon. He no longer possesses the size advantage he had against the 108 pounders.

i doubt Segura gets back to the top..we saw what Viloria did to him and he's not going to recover from that... Chocolatito would probably do worse... Estrada as well... don't know where he goes from now..

Viloria is a hell of a fighter and has great power. Segura can still conpete againts most top guys but would lose to guys like roman and estrada. This fight vs sosa is a great fight and a 50-50 fight sosa is no spring chicken any more

            Segura is only 5′ 4″.

Sosa is on the decline. Unless Segura is damaged goods, I'd slightly favor him in this matchup.
