Comments Thread For: Ashley Theophane on Training Camp at Mayweather Gym

I’m into week four of my current stint in Las Vegas and it has definitely been a life changing experience.

I’m working with Floyd Mayweather’s trainer, Nate Jones, and I’m adding some new approaches to my arsenal every day.

I had a testing but great start to the week, sparring five time world champion, Celestino Caballero, on Monday afternoon. We completed 4 x 5 minute rounds with only 30 seconds rest in between, in sweltering 30 degree heat. It was no joke, but exhilarating all the same.

After watching Floyd’s sparring session; Floyd, Leonard Ellerbe, Lanell Bellows and I went out for a run around Vegas. Running with the pound for pound king, the sports number one fighter is a hell of an amazing feeling.

How many fighters can say they’ve done that? [Click Here To Read More]

Good luck to Ashley. A smart bloke (except for his supporting the Spuds) & I thought he had some momentum going but he needs to stay away from UK fights. A year in Vegas might do him the world of good.

This guy is so underated its a joke. He beat danny garcia IMO and i think if he had good promoters he could be a world champion.

Well I'm happy to know that he's a Spurs fan. He might have just won me over with that one...

            Is he though?

How many underwhelming performances has Ashely Theophane had in his career?

This is the same guy who has one round from losing a comfortable decision to Ben Murphy then lost a clear decision to Darren Hamilton in his next fight. These are domestic level fighters.

His win over Rodriguez was a good win but did he scream world class talent to you in that fight?

His win over a 100 year old Corley coming off 100 loss's was half decent I suppose considering it's not easy to dominate Corley.

Had a close fight with Danny Garcia. But to me, that's more of a testamanent to how good Garcia is as opposed to Theophane being underrated.

Theophane has put in too many lack luster performances to be considered underrated, in my mind.
