There aren't as many Cubans in NY and NJ as you think. Then you have to consider the age and interest in the sport among the few that actually live in those states. Many of the Cubans that will be at the fight are flying or driving in from elsewhere.
I'll also take a wild guess that not too many Puerto Ricans are buying tickets simply because a Cuban boxer is on the card. Our people may support each other in some ways, but people in general tend to support their own athletes. Even Felix Verdejo isn't likely to draw many PRs to the fight. Although an interesting prospect, he's not a big enough name.
