Recently watching that horrible piece of trash "Dempsey" had made me think of posting this. Have fun.
The one I like best, and for me the most true to life story was the "Set-Up" which starred Robert Ryan. An advantage in this film was that Ryan had had considerable boxing experience. It's black and white.

Rocky is an ATG movie series. Undisputed, Champion and Raging Bull were great too.

Great white hype and Ali were pretty good. Couldn't stand mullion dollar baby

Great white hype was funny in how it poked fun at so much that is wrong with boxing.

I remember spitting out my water at damon wayons telling his trainer
" I will be in the ring in a second, I just wanna finish watching the sex scene in dolemite"
                or
"My blackness wont let me lose to that kid"

Cinderella Man is probably my favorite.

Touching story based on James J. Braddock a fighter who just fell down from the top from like a 20-0 record and just started losing and became a former shell of him self. Got his licensed removed, and during the Great Depression got a chance at a comeback and in turn became the Heavyweight Champ.

                  Great, great movie.

i really dont like boxing movies, they are incorrect in so many ways it just starts to annoy me after a while.

the rocky movies are ****, i dont understand how ppl involved with real boxing can reference them during fights. they showed boxing in a terrible light imo in addition to being completely unrealistic.

there have been a few boxing films i enjoyed though, mainly because of the story outside the ring. those films would be raging bull, ali, cinderella man and the fighter. they all had compelling storys outside of the terrible fight scenes, being true storys made it better of course. great white hype and undisputed were alright too.

Against the ropes has got to be the worst.

I love boxing films......the rockys take some beating for the fun factor.

But all the ones mentioned above were good films.

Would love to see Denzel do a Don King film.
