looks like some compiled crap and not interview. There's alot of bull**** about Leonard around and this is one of them.

And As you can see this article is written by Leonard hater.

Back in September 1981, when I was just 16 years of age, Sugar Ray Leonard broke by heart and emptied my pockets, by coming back to hammer my idol Tommy Hearns

First, Leonard is a very smart guy and he won't say things like:

“When I returned to Maryland, I invited Marvin over to help me open a restaurant I was part owner of. Sitting at a table, drinking a lot of champagne, I asked: ‘Who you fighting next, Marvin?’

“He(Hagler) said: ‘Ray, I’m just not as motivated any more and I’m starting to cut real easy.’ I thought to myself: ‘No ****!’ and poured him a little more champagne!

“Two weeks later I announced I was prepared to fight him.
He also won't say something like
The reason I accepted our second fight less than six months later was because I knew Roberto was a very energetic eater! Even though we were both welters then, Duran could blow up to above 200lbs between fights and I knew that the sooner I fought him again the more difficult it would be for him to make the weight.
Also, when Ali and Frazier fought in Manilla Leonard was already amateur champion with formed style.
But after seeing the ‘Thrilla in Manila’ I looked at his face, looked at Ali’s face, and decided that, from then on, perhaps I’d box like Ali!
        I didn't bother with other things ..

I say that this isn't interview after all. Where you saw questions and answers format?
This IS interview from same journalist: http://www.boxing-monthly.co.uk/cont...rent/three.htm

I don't based on what conversations or quotes this article was made though.
But sure there is a lot of crap which are taken out of context, besides above mentions also following

            But
In my very late comebacks, I lost to Terry Norris (1991) and Hector Camacho (1997), both of whom I’m very confident I’d have taken care of in my prime. Thankfully, I own the rights to all my fight films — and that’s why you’ll never, in the rest of your lives, be able to see those losses again!
Can you take it seriously? I can't, unless it was humor by Leonard which author didn't crasp.
I say this article containst too much bull**** to take it seriously.

"Today, still devilishly handsome and an irritatingly trim and youthful looking 49-year-old"
