Even if you would've beaten one fighter, doesn't make you better than him.
Against guys like Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard, he would be the bigger man.
How do you think he would have done against McClellan?

McClellan was a terrific boxer. He circled his opponents and picked them off well, he out-jabbed his opponent before planting his feet and finding the right shot, and he's one of the best three body-punchers ever. He also has the best chin I've ever seen. McClellan's judge of timing/distance was so good that he was able to find the right punch on 20 occasions in the very first round of the fight, more often than not it was his lethal left hook to the body.

Nunn, in his early career (upto the Kalambay fight) was super-slick with fast hands, Nunn was even taller and rangier than Gerald and he was a southpaw. Nunn had good foot speed, used the ropes well for defence. An early Nunn outpoints the 160lb Roy Jones by a wide margin IMHO. But McClellan had such a good sense of timing/distance and, as long as he was patient and had Manny in his corner, I believe McClellan would of beaten Nunn.

Gerald was susceptible to slick BOXERS (see how Dennis Milton and Ralph Ward beat him by decision). Nobody at 160 was slicker than Michael Nunn.

In Gerald's brawling/slugging days, yes. But after back-to-back defeats, McClellan completed changed his boxing style to a slow-paced fighter.

As the 80's turned into the 90's, he developed into an awesome boxer-puncher.

Yes but remember one thing.. think about it... they also didn't match him with anymore slick boxers. Right?? Nunn was in a different stratosphere than Gerald I think.
