  • Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Trout: Saul Says Trout Will Feel Payback!

On April 20th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, WBC 154-pound champion Saśl "Canelo" Alvarez has promised to avenge his family honor by taking the WBA title from Auston Trout (26-0, 14KOs), who beat Canelo's older brother Rigoberto Alvarez in Guadalajara in 2011. Canelo has even promised to return to Mexico with the WBA championship, and present it as a gift to Rigoberto. Almost 40,000 fans are expected for this Showtime televised event.

Lol do they think this is some type of selling point for more viewers? No one cares about Canelo's brother. They don't really need a sales pitch for this fight.

How many times are they gonna mention Trout beating a journeyman that happened to be Saul's brother?

I don't think Canelo is so much upset about Trout beating his brother as he is that Austin ruined a big payday for him against Cotto. I have to imagine that Canelo would have made a hell of a lot more $ against Cotto, probably a PPV fight.

Austin Trout is not Josesito Lopez. He'll find that out April 20th.

Yup it probably would have been on PPV. He should be mad at Cotto for sucking so hard though.
