Barrera-Marquez: Who is the better technician?

We're all familiar of the stereotypical image of a Mexican fighter: ready to die warriors with no regard for defense and technique. While Barrera and Marquez are certainly warriors, these man carry PhDs in the sweet scientist to go along with their machismo.

My question: Which of these two is the better technician? Better ring IQ? and better defense?

Marquez is the better overall boxer and has the better technique. Specially when he was Featherweight and prime physically, but Barrera's boxing IQ is very underrated

        marquez.........

barrera is not far behind him though, I think that barrera fought more on an emotional stand point and it would show up with his aggression and in exchanges, which as a fan is exciting but it also left him open to big shots more so than normal.

one thing I will say about barrera, which I don't think gets recognized enough, is his retaliation and speed at his counters attacks.

barrera is one of the fastest to come back with a shot after getting hit, and usually with good results.

Marquez but it's not by much. I think Barrera was very under-rated in a lot of areas.

Where did this myth come from? Mexican fighters may not be typical slick boxers but no technique? If you run down the history of the Mexican greats, you will see amazing technique.

JMM is a better technician than Barrera even though I will give Barrera credit for becoming a better boxer later in his career.

Apparently he still is with that Memo juice.

Aswer to TS, Marquez but I always loved me some Barrera.

I did say "stereotype" it doesn't necessarily mean it's true. But yes I may have exaggerate, I meant no disrespect I love these guerreros.
