Promoter and international boxing agent Sampson Lewkowicz exploded when he read some of the recent comments that appeared in Thursday's headline story on BoxingScene.com. On Tuesday, Lewkowicz laughed off the possibility of matching WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez against unbeaten WBO beltholder Peter Quillin.

Lewkowicz believes Quillin has not been promoted well by Golden Boy Promotions and feels general public has no idea who Quillin is.

"Golovkin and Geale are fighters who people know and they have been promoted very well - but I can't say the same for Peter Quillin, who nobody knows. I had to go on Youtube to remember who Quillin was, and the only thing I found was a video where Quillin was interviewing himself and asking 'who is Sergio Martinez?' Maybe by now Quillin knows who Martinez is - but we still have no idea who Peter Quillin is," Lewkowicz said.

I defend Golden Boy Promotions a lot on here, because Top Rank are such scumbags.

But if it's true that Schaefer tried to blackball Lewkowicz just because of the Sergio Martinez vs. Julio Cesar Chavez fight I will lose a lot of respect for GBP.

They would basically be no better than the snake Bob Arum.

He might be right about Quillin but it is not like Golovkin or especially Gaele are much better known in the US, worldwide they are probably better known but what sum is that exactly going to bring in extra (although something is better than nothing).

Quillin just stepped on the stage though, give it a year and see where his name is. Not like Golovkin and Gaele have been around that much longer but Quillin is the youngest of the 3.
