Comments Thread For: Foreman Expects Manny Pacquiao To Reclaim Top Spot

Former heavyweight champion George Foreman believes that eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, who lost a hugely controversial split decision to Timothy Bradley and a sixth-round knockout defeat at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez, will be on top of the world again soon.

“All the odds are in his favor to become champion again,” said Foreman.

In an interview with Jenna Jay of Doghouse Boxing, Foreman noted that “the one thing about it is, if you get defeated especially by a knockout, it’s a physical thing that happened to you, not a whole lot of psychological disadvantages. But physically, you’ve got to heal inside. Pacquiao is well trained, he’s always in good condition, so the healing process is sped up because of that.”

Foreman's prediction pretty much shuts the book on Manny regaining the top spot.

I didn't even know there was a discussion about that. It's near incomprehensible for him to reclaim the #1 spot at this point.

Well said, and plus with Mayweather around for 2 or 3 at most, fights left he can't make p4p #1, he never was number 1 in my book; that is and always was Money's spot.

So long as he stays away from Bradley JMM and Floyd yeah he can win a belt from the Rios Alvarado class of champ , he cant beat the top guys .

Pac is still the best in my book, coming from a Marquez fan.

Pac will never again be P4P #1 (I dont believe he ever was) nor will he ever be 147lbs #1 (Again as above) - maybe just a paper champ..

How can you guys say Pacqiao was not top pfp when he and Floyd have fought the same guys during Pacquiaos time at top: De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Mosley
Pac beat them worst than Mayweather , except Marquez.

But def disagree with Foreman too many rumbles in the jungle to think Pacquiao can be on top again in just 2 years. Don't think he can beat Bradley then Marquez back-to-back anymore
