Comments Thread For: John Molina Could Return on June Date, on ESPN FNF

Looks like John Molina could return to the ring in early June on an ESPN2 “Friday Night Fights” telecast, promoter Dan Goossen told Boxingscene.com earlier this week.

No word yet on an opponent or if Molina will continue campaigning at the lightweight limit or at 140 pounds, something he has expressed interest in doing in the near future.

In his last fight on January 11th, Molina knocked out Dannie Williams in the fourth round of a scheduled 10 round bout.

Prior to the Williams fight, Molina (25-2, 20 KOs), who hails from the Los Angeles suburb of Covina, was stopped in the first round at the hands of Antonio DeMarco on September 8th.

    I can't believe Molina is 30 already!!!

If Broner stays north the Lightweight is wide open. Vasquez is a skilled Mexican but his problem is that he's a skilled Mexican. Right skills, wrong market or vice versa.

There are plenty of decent fighters around who could make good fights. Not including Burns or Vasquez you have Molina, Rees, Mitchell, DeMarco, Abril, (maybe) Murray, Bogere, Linares & more who all have qualities & flaws.

Molina needs to get going soon, father time is ticking. It would be a shame to see a talented fighter like him waste his time waiting for opponents. Any ranked fighter should put him in the limelight once again for a championship belt. Activity is all he needs, ring rust is his biggest enemy. I can see him holding a title belt this year if he gets some work done. Lets go Dan Goosen get John back in the limelight !!
