Glad to hear it's one of those 2 next for Pacquaio. Both make sense.
I thought exactly the same, and only got it when reading the article. he should have inserted a "but" after "Rios".

Smart move by Arum. Rios, though limited, is a future money earner for the company. Marquez is on his way out and Bradley is not that marketable. Can't have Pac beat up on Rios, cuz god knows he's there for the beating.

In 2009 he also beat Ricky Hatton for a title, but that was the IBO which is NOT considered a legitimate world championship title!!If it was, then they have to consider every one that has held that title & that's NOT the case!! & even counting that BOGUS title, that's still 7, so ¿Where is the 8th!?
Hatton fight was also for the RING title and he was recognised as the legit 130 lb. champ.. The Barrera fight was for the Ring title. Also Barrera was the lineal champ.

Perhaps by accident or "promotional expediency", the IBO has had some pretty good, well recognised champions from time to time. Some of the best fighters have fought for it. Eventually, they'll probably be recognised as one of the "Big Five'....

Nacho is right and that's exactly whay I' m always saying.. there's no other practical reason for marquez to go on at this point of his career considering his age, other than facing pac again. Rios, alvarado, bradley, pac are completely dangerous for him but the only difference is, pac is still regarded as thebetter fighter of them all, and most of all, the highest bidder to bring bulk of money to marquez. But the most important thing is, there is no shame of losing to the best of the bests! And if he wins again, then he totally closed the chapter of rivalry against the best nemesis of his whole career, while riding the helm of stardom to walk away from boxing!

I don't know what you mean and up to, but pac is no longer struggling for a higher weight from his division, much more no longer a new comer to the welterweight division, he is now a full pledge welterweight boxer. So all his fight within his divisional weight, his opponent are entitled to the full weight of welterweight which means 147lbs! FYI, catchweight to pac happened only when he was been challenged to fight to higher division or he could not met weight to the fullest, to equal the advantage/disadvantage of his opponent; him to gain weight and his opponent to decrease weight which either way disadvantageous to both fighter, which I think just fair to both sides.

Look for Pacquaio to finish what Ruslan started with Timothy Bradley. Only reason I want this fight to happen is so wandering eye Joel can eat his words.

Bradley and Marquez are great opponents for Pacquiao.
