Comments Thread For: Garcia: Rios Can Take Two Fights, Then Alvarado III

The rematch between Mike Alvarado and Brandon Rios this past Saturday night produced an all out war that has left many fans salivating for third fight to happen next. There are also those who believe both men should take a different fight and then revisit for a rubber match sometime down the line. Top Rank CEO Bob Arum is one of those who believe a different direction might be best as he let the media know Saturday night that he’s not a fan of immediate rematches despite Rios-Alvarado II being just that.

After receiving the first loss of his career, Rios made it known he wanted a third installment as soon as possible as he crashed Alvarado’s post fight interview to remind his opponent he had given him a shot at redemption and he should return the favor.

While both fighters agreed on the spot a third fight should happen next, the final decision comes down to the promoters and managers involved.

I think one fight in between should be enough but it's up to whatever they feel like would help.

they both could very well lose their next fights and screw the rubber match up. they both you rest and get back at it in the fall.

Both Alvarado and Rios need to explore new opportunities. These fighters are excellent warriors and deserve to be shared to other match ups. The 3rd fight will always be there unless catastrophic injuries occur preventing it from happening and the Creator knows the Rubber fight will rob Alvarado and especially Rios of years from the career it will be so brutal because at this point they're fighting for imortality.

Rios already wants to start training again, I have a feeling this loss is going to make him more of a monster.

I'd be down for Provodnikov or Khabib/Rios and Bradley/Alvarado

Very possible. Look what the 2 losses did to Matthysse.
