Comments Thread For: HBO's Lampley Thinks Nonito Donaire Will Top Rigondeaux

Jim Lampley will be ringside at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 13 to call the unification bout between 122-pound titleholders Nonito Donaire and Guillermo Rigondeaux.

It is a fight that HBO’s highly respected blow-by-blow announcer feels will end with Donaire as the victor.

“I have to go with Donaire: greater experience and flexibility,” Lampley said Tuesday afternoon during a chat hosted on HBO.com. “There's a tremendous challenge to Donaire in this fight. They're both classic counter punchers, and neither really wants to take the lead.

What is this guy talking about? Nonito is ALWAYS taking the lead. He is always trying to come forward and walk guys down. I hate Nonito and want Rigo to win, but Im torn on this fight, myself.

An HBO commentator thinking an HBO fighter will win? Shocking!

I wonder what he thinks of the other HBO fighter (Rios) using Memo? Thats right didnt even mention it.

I used to like Lampley too

Nonito Donaire is a very good finisher when he has his man hurt...
This is why I can not see Rigo beating Donaire not unless he completely out classes Donaire in every way which is very unlikely, as soon as Donaire hurts Rigo and puts him down he will make sure he doesn't recover.

Nothing to do with the fact Donaire is a more accomplished fighter?
More experienced in the professional ranks?
Has had WAY more dangerous fights than Rigo?

Fair play some people will be biased but judged on what basis are you saying Jim's being biased, you've got absolutely no proof fair play If the guy Lampley was saying will win had no reason to think so but you know that's not the case.

Get ready for the "BOOM!!!", the "WHAM!!", and the "WHACK!!!'' whenever Donaire throw a punch. Shouldn't the commentator refrain from making a prediction like they do for the NFL games? Then again, this is HBO boxing.

It's a bit different to actual games like that isn't it?
If someone is asked for their opinion usually they give it, just like someone asking a commentator to predict a score outcome people have done that before but nobody has thrown their toys out their pram over it.
