Comments Thread For: Rios-Alvarado 2 Pulled in 1.2 Million Viewers on HBO

The March 30 “Boxing After Dark” broadcast on HBO featuring another great battle between Brandon Rios and Mike Alvarado pulled in an average of 1.2 million viewers, according to ratings compiled by Nielsen Media Research.

Many more tuned in for this rematch than did for the first fight between the junior welterweight warriors — Rios-Alvarado 2 represented a 45 percent increase over their October bout, which had more than 800,000 viewers and was on the undercard to Nonito Donaire’s victory over Toshiaki Nishioka.

True but I expected more, maybe like 1.4. But the percentage went up a lot from the first.

Good numbers, was expecting a bit more, but still, boxing has been pulling strong numbers lately with Hopkins-Cloud, Bradley-Prov, and now Rios-Alvarado deuce.

Pretty good. Remember it was competing with March Madness I believe.

Don't know if games ran that late though... fight started at like 11:15 or 30... so right around the end or after.
                Also, 400k improvement is good

Donaire-Arce did better as it pulled in over 1.3 Million for a fight that didn't even last a full 3 rounds.
