Comments Thread For: John Molina Targets Title Showdown, Wants Abril Next

Lightweight contender John Molina Jr is back in the gym in Oxnard, CA with Robert Garcia after coming off an impressive win over hard hitting Dannie Williams back in January on ESPN’s Friday Night Fights.

While Molina has resumed training, he is still looking for an opponent at the moment. BoxingScene caught up with Molina as he expressed he’d like to get in the ring with current WBA Lightweight champion Richar Abril.

“First and foremost Richar Abril. I think it’ll be a great fight. His style is very boring but you mix it with my style and it should be intriguing. We’re not going to let him hold me as much and Robert Garcia already figured out that puzzle once and we can figure it out again” said Molina. [Click Here To Read More]

I'm O.K. with this, but it would be an Abril UD win.
And Abril needs somebody that can make him work to make it a more action type fight.

Abril takes on all comers. Arguably the best resume at 135. With that said, he beats Molina. Should be a good fight tho. I hopw it happens.

Oh yea and Molina said Garcia solved "the holding puzzle". Umm no he didnt. Rios got schooled for 12 rounds straight with 0 adjustments.

I agree. I respect Abril's willingness to fight whoever even though he is not that entertaining of a boxer. Molina is a hot and cold fighter, and could make a fight of it if the right version showed up. Good fight.

What's the WBC doing with thier belt , maybe he can get some kind of elimanator,
a boxing match with Abril doesn't sound all that good anyway what network would really want that.

How bout a rematch with DeMarco or Figeuroa or Bogere fights that ppl would want to see

Abril via shutout. Lundy was boxing circles around Molina and got caught; Abril's not getting fancy.

Do you understand the context of this article.

It's about who Molina is targeting.

Have you ever even seen him fight once.

What interest is there in watching Richold Abril well do that against a slow brawler for 12 uneventful rounds.

Molina is worthwhile if he's in with someone who can give and get.
