Agree with that. Judged fair, I got the overall pick wrong. Again. Rough year.

Good, Alvarado got it but that was closer than it should have been.

Cong**** to Alvarado. His W clearly sets up Fight #3.
Boxing has suffered dearly over the past years so i look at last nights fight as well as Bradley's fight last week as a win for everyone. Great action, big heart and a newly energized fan base.

Last - IMHO, Pac vs. Rio's would be poor matchmaking as Rio's would be completely outclassed and not stand up to Pacman's power or speed but then again anything is possible when Arum is involved.

            I should think so too!

I, like many others, got it badly wrong. Alvarado made the right adjustments (no more failed philly shell, move more, pace his own work better) and Rios threw away the championship rounds.

I think Rios will look back at hte replay ruefully, because he was hurting Alvarado almost every round, and late on fairly normal looking shots (jabs especially) seemed to shake Alvarado - who looked a bit desparate at times. Instead of amping up the pressure, though, he turned it down, and it was Mike who dug deep and finished strongly. Rios said afterwards he was ready to do another 15 rounds - well that's why you lost son. Alvarado left it all in there and you didn't. Smiling at flush shots doesn't win anything.

            Deserved win for Mike.
