New Sergio Martinez training footage

In some recent interview , Martinez said he ****ed up his knee again after the operation because something in his knee burst due to change of altitude in a flight or something like that. Got better though and said it's currently at 7.5 out of 10.

That sounds horrible. The fight is almost here, I hope his knee is at least 95% healthy by then.

Wouldn't be surprised. It definitely looked like he was favoring it, and he wasn't moving like he used to. Felt like he was using all upper body, and just using his legs to plant on the ground, instead of moving and hitting.

My long standing prediction is that knee surgery changed him, and people will be surprised when Murray gives Sergio a hard night.

Co-sign. I think Martinez isn't gonna rely much on movement like he did against Chavez and is gonna opt to stand in the middle of the ring and draw Murray's lead.

It seems to me like Sergio has been having problems with that knee for a while. If you look at his training footage before the Chavez fight people were questioning why he had a band on the knee. I guess after the fight we found out why. Sounds like a reoccurring problem to me.

It also helps that Murray isn't a natural Light Heavyweight like Chavez and won't have a crazy big size advantage.

I know Murray is not the type of fight one would retire after but if I was Martinez I'd evaluate my knee during and after the fight and if it doesn't look good I'd retire. He's 37 years old and these type of injuries are bad business. Would hate to see him seriously hurt in there. He could suffer RJJr's fate.

if martinez can't move properly he'll be in for hell, originally had this down as an easy fight but his knee at '7.5 out of 10' a month out doesn't instill confidence

Looked like he was purposely not stepping as hard on that leg in order to put less pressure on the knee.

As far as looking a bit soft, he still has plenty of time. I just hope that knee's not a big problem. War Maravilla!

Even a more static Martinez has enough to clearly beat Murray.
