  • Comments Thread For: Tim Bradley: Provodnikov Brought Out The Best in Me!

Tim Bradley (30-0) has seen his career take a dramatic turn for the better since hitting a low point following his controversial points victory over Manny Pacquiao. Bradley was shunned by many boxing fans and revealed that he had even received death threats after the fight. With his gut check performance on March 16th in his victory over Ruslan Provodnikov, Bradley has earned the admiration and respect of many fans.

During a recent interview on BoxingScene Radio, Bradley admitted to us that he didn't follow his trainer Joel Diaz's game plan. He said that he and his trainer are still on good terms and talk all of the time.

No; It Was Either FIGHT, Or Get Knocked OUT! Bradley Has Lost 2 In A Row!

He tried to say the right things after getting embarrassed by Pacquaio, and after this beatdown at the hands of Prov, who he thought he hand picked well. Prov didn't bring the best out in Bradley, Bradley as in desperation mode; he had no choice. Bradley doesn't bring out the best in himself, he doesn't like to fight. He broke his ankle trying to run from Pacquaio. He took a mugging every round and was hurt every round by Prov. He cried about a concussion or amnesia or both following. He took a standing eight count at the end of the 12th round. That is NO champion, just because he finished. He's lost 2 in a row. He's in a lot of trouble with that belt around his waist handed to him. There's nobody out there he can beat.

This is funny. Tim getting knocked across the ring is what the fans want to see. Aside from when He was out on his feet, it was a avg fight. When he boxed and moved it was not really exciting. When he would get smashed and looked out of it, people cheered. He fought back, he held some but he fought back and didn't go down. I'll give him that but he's basically saying the fans enjoyed the fight because he almost got ko a few times in the fight.

I think people are overstating the extent to which the way he fought was a departure from the norm for Bradley. Maybe the Pacquiao fight and how he looked that night is still too fresh in people's memory.

He has gone toe to toe with opponents before, not for entire fights, but in patches just like he did with Provodnikov. He just got badly buzzed this time and it made it harder for him to stay out of trouble. He was definitely more aggressive, but it wasn't like he threw the playbook out entirely.

I once again agree with Bradley.

Ruslan brought out the best of Tim, the best of what he has to offer.
